Wounded Warrior Project‘s® (WWP) mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors. WWP’s purpose is to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members, help injured service members aid and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs.
It all began several years ago when a few individuals took small, yet inspired actions to help others in need. One night while watching the evening news, veterans and friends were moved by stories of the first wounded service members returning home from Afghanistan and Iraq. They realized something had to be done for these brave men and women beyond the brass bands and ticker tape parades.
